GIGA Scholarships at Keio University for International Students: Keio University in Japan is happy to announce its Global Information and Governance Academic Program (GIGA) Scholarships for incoming first-year undergraduate students for the 2023/24 academic year. Candidates with outstanding academic potential are strongly encouraged to apply.
The Japanese Government (MEXT) and MASATADA KOBAYASHI Scholarships are offered for the GIGA program at Keio University in Japan. Applicants may apply for both scholarships, but only one will be given if chosen as a recipient.

About the Keio University
Keio University (??????, Kei? Gijuku Daigaku?) is a Japanese university in Minato, Tokyo. It is shortened as Keio (???) or Keidai (???). It is recognized as Japan’s oldest higher education institute. Fukuzawa Yukichi, the institution’s founder, founded it in Edo in 1858 as a Western studies school (now Tokyo).
It has eleven campuses spread over Tokyo and Kanagawa. Letters, Economics, Law, Business and Commerce, Medicine, Science and Technology, Policy Management, Environment and Information Studies, Nursing and Medical Care, and Pharmacy are among its 10 faculties.

Eligibility Criteria
All of the scholarships have the same qualifying conditions. You must meet the following requirements to be considered for these scholarships:
- Be admitted into the Faculty of Policy Management or the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies through the Winter AO 2022 (Global) screening [Admissions for the GIGA Program] and enroll in September 2023. (applicants who wish to enroll in April are NOT eligible)
- Be a first-year student;
- Be a foreign national;
