The PhD application window for September 2023 is now OPEN. If you had previously created/submitted an application, you will need to recreate it and resubmit your documents, including referee information and references, as all previous data has been lost as a result of the cyber attack.

The PhD application window for September 2023 is now OPEN. If you had previously created/submitted an application, you will need to recreate it and resubmit your documents, including referee information and references, as all previous data has been lost as a result of the cyber attack.
As a result, the application deadline has been pushed back to February 28, 2023. Although early application is strongly encouraged, the timing of your application will have no effect on your chances of admission.

This European internship program encourages students from all over the world to apply. Prior to beginning the application process, students must select their research topics.

Eligibility Criteria
ISTA welcomes students from a variety of academic backgrounds who can contribute their knowledge and experiences to the scientific community.
Students with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, chemistry, neuroscience, mathematics, computer science, physics,
data science, or scientific computing, as well as other related fields, are encouraged to apply.
Documents Required for Application
Applications for these scholarships must include copies of the following:
- Curriculum vitae.
- A statement of purpose that explains your research experience and why you want to join the ISTA PhD program. It should be no more than 1-2 pages long. Include up to three research groups that interest you in your statement. You do not need to contact potential supervisors at this time.
- Transcripts and diplomas from all degree programs and years you have attended and/or are currently enrolled in at the university (in English and in original language)
- Contact information of 3 referees
All documents have to be submitted in English and copies of university transcripts also in their original language.
How to apply
ISTA accepts applications for its PhD program only once a year. The application portal is now operational again. To apply, you must first create an online account that will allow you to track your application as it progresses through the various stages. We do not accept applications or documents that are not submitted through this [email protected]
