Eligibility Criteria
You can apply for one of these scholarships if you:
- are classified as an International student for fees purposes (including any EU students required to pay International fees in 2023/24); and
- already hold an offer for an eligible Undergraduate degree at the University of Exeter, commencing in September 2023.

Scholarship recipients are selected on:
- Academic merit, as determined by the information you provided in your UCAS application. Typically, applicants will be expected to demonstrate that they have achieved or are capable of achieving the equivalent of GCE A level grades AAB or International Baccalaureate 34 points. The expectation for the Business School is higher, with GCE A level grades A*AA or equivalent. For more information, please see our Entry Requirements pages.
- Academic ambition; future career ambitions; a genuine need for the scholarship and how it will support your ambitions; a sense of social responsibility and willingness to engage with the Exeter community as part of the application process.
How to apply
To be considered for one of these scholarships, please apply using the webform once you have received your offer.
The form requires a personal statement (no more than 300 words) in response to the following questions:
- What is your interest in your chosen programme of study and what are you hoping to learn?
- What are your future ambitions and how will your studies help you to achieve them?
- What would being awarded a Global Excellence Scholarship mean to you – what difference would it make?
- As a Global Excellence Scholar, how might you act as an ambassador for the University?
The Round 1 application deadline is January 6, 2023. Offer holders who apply for a scholarship by this date will be notified of the outcome of their scholarship application via email on February 9, 2023. If you are selected for a scholarship, your email will explain how to accept it.
