About the University of Edinburgh
From Nobel laureates and Olympic champions to space explorers and prime ministers, the University of Edinburgh has had an impact on history since its doors first opened in 1583. Following the 18th century Scottish Enlightenment, the University was positioned at the forefront of academia and critical thinking.
Established facts about the world were being boldly and consistently challenged thanks to the determination and perseverance of a group of Edinburgh intellectuals.
Scholarship Benefit
The £5,000 scholarships are renewable for the duration of the program of study, subject to satisfactory academic progress.
A student is considered to have made Satisfactory Progress in each year if a formal School decision of “Progress” or “Conditional Progression” was made without the student having to repeat a year. If the student does not make satisfactory progress in any one year, the award will be terminated.
