The University of Kent is pleased to be a member of the South East Network for Social Sciences (SeNSS), which was recognized by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) in July 2016 as a prominent Doctoral Training Partnership.

SeNSS is one of only 14 ESRC-funded PhD Training Partnerships in the UK, and it will offer a handful of full-funded ESRC doctoral studentships beginning in September 2023. Kent University will provide ESRC SeNSS studentships in the following subject areas:

Scholarship Benefit

These scholarships include a doctoral stipend (equal to the Research Councils UK National Minimum Doctoral Stipend of £17,668 for 2022/2023, to be announced for 2023/24).

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for an ESRC studentship, you must have qualifications/experience equivalent to a good honours degree at first or upper second class level from a UK academic research organization.

Degrees obtained outside the United Kingdom, or a combination of qualifications and/or experience equal to a relevant UK degree, may be accepted.

This award is accessible to both UK citizens and international candidates (including EU nationals).
