About the American Psychological Foundation (APF)
The American Psychological Foundation (abbreviated APF) is a humanitarian organization in the United States that awards research grants to early-career psychologists. The organization has ties to the American Psychological Association.
Six psychologists founded the American Psychological Foundation in 1953 with an initial budget of $580.
Joseph McVicker Hunt, one of the APF’s founders, later served as its first president.
Dorothy Cantor, who supervised the launch of two major fundraising efforts, the Campaign for a New Era in 2000 and the Campaign to Transform the Future in 2012, is among the foundation’s other former presidents. In 2017, Terence M. Keane replaced Cantor.
Scholarship Benefit
