We receive between 400 and 500 applications year and admit between 80 and 90 pupils. We anticipate awarding 24 Erasmus Mundus scholarships for the 2023-25 programme; therefore, approximately 25% will be admitted as scholarship students and 75% will be admitted as self-funded students.

About the Erasmus Mundus

Erasmus Mundus, a program of the European Union, aims to improve the quality of higher education through scholarships and academic collaboration between the EU and the rest of the world.

The three main objectives of the initiative are to internationalisation students, staff, curricula, and research; impact the development of SEN and inclusive education practice; and build international collaborative networks, projects, and research.

Erasmus Mundus supports Joint Programmes (Masters Courses and Joint Doctorates) that are administered by consortiums of higher education institutions from the European Union (EU) and (from 2009) from outside the EU.

Scholarship Benefit

We grant 22 Erasmus Mundus scholarships for €49,000 to students from Partner Countries (€47,000 if travel distance from home is less than 4,000 kilometers): CATEGORIES A ON THE APPLICATION FORM

You can be qualified for this category of scholarship if:

  • You DO NOT reside in any EU Member State, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Turkey, Serbia, or former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.
  • You must abide by the 12-month rule, which states that you cannot have carried out your main activity (studies, work, private visits, tourism, etc.) for more than a total of 12 months in any EU Member State, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Turkey, Serbia, or former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia over the course of the previous five years.
  • You meet the admission requirements and eligibility conditions.

We grant 2 €35,000 Erasmus Mundus scholarships to students from Programme Countries: CATEGORY B ON THE APPLICATION FORM

You can be qualified for this category of scholarship if:

  • You reside in one of the EU Member States, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Turkey, Serbia, or the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.
  • You are NOT a resident of any of the EU Member States, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Turkey, or former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, BUT you have carried out your main activity (studies, work, private visits, tourism, etc.) for more than a total of 12 months in any of the EU Member States, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Turkey, Serbia, or former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia over the course of the last five years.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered for the Erasmus Mundus Master’s Scholarship in Journalism 2023:

  • Must have earned above-average grades/GPA during their bachelor’s degree.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to complete the degree successfully and enter the workforce.
  • Must exhibit exceptional journalistic experience based on the quality of work samples, career as a journalist, and journalistic reference.
  • Applicants must have outstanding academic and research skills.
