Scholarship Description

The Wellington International Excellence Scholarship is designed to attract and assist high-achieving undergraduate international students who are now enrolled at Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand.

International and domestic students who are continuing their study at Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand can take advantage of its International Excellence program.

This scholarship’s major goals are to support diversity at Victoria University of Wellington and to give worthy students financial aid.

Scholarship Benefit
The Victoria University of Wellington will grant the eligible chosen students $20,000 over three years of study.

The Victoria University of Wellington New Zealand Wellington International Excellence Scholarship 2022-23 is offered for Victoria University of Wellington undergraduate students.

Eligibility Criteria

These scholarships are for international school leavers who have completed at least one full year (i.e. Year 12) at a New Zealand secondary school and who will enroll at Victoria University of Wellington in Trimester 1 of the year following application. Scholarships will be competitive and merit-based.


  • Applicants must be full-fee paying international students.
  • Applicants must have completed at least one full year (12th grade) in a secondary school in New Zealand.
  • Applicants must be enrolled in their first year of a bachelor’s degree program.
  • Applicants must possess NCEA Level 2 (or Level 3 if completed in Year 12) with Excellence endorsement or an equivalent certificate.

Application Procedure

On the closing date, a completed online application must be submitted by 4.30 p.m. Applications that are submitted late or in part won’t be approved. The application must be submitted by 4.30 pm on the closing date together with any necessary supporting materials (including references).
