Scholarship Benefit
The scholarship at the University of Oulu covers the first-year tuition cost plus a 6,000€ relocation award that is provided once the student arrives in Oulu.
The scholarships are intended for talented non-EU/EEA students who apply to international master’s programmes at the University of Oulu and are subject to tuition fees.

Eligibility Criteria
A successful applicant has earned their first academic degree, typically a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, from a higher education institution. The Bachelor’s degree is often the lesser academic degree. This degree should involve at least three years of full-time study (180 ECTS).
Applicants who complete their qualifications in the spring of 2023 are also able to apply. Please check the admission criteria for the requisite eligibility.

The online application at Studyinfo.fi tells applicants if they must upload supporting documents.
Applicants holding a diploma degree earned outside Finland:
- a demonstration of your proficiency in English. Applications without evidence of language proficiency won’t be considered for student selection.
- The official English translation of the final diploma and academic transcript in addition to their native languages.
- 500–1000 words for a motivational letter. Please refer to the guidelines in the section on the student selection process.
- CV
- Document detailing research interests: A free-form document outlining the applicant’s research interests. Please refer to the guidelines in the section on the student selection process. Please be aware that the research interest document is a required application attachment, just like the other needed paperwork.
Applicants holding a diploma degree earned in Finland:
- The majority of Finnish diplomas are accessible to universities via a national database. The Studyinfo database demands attachments that are not electronically available in the database.
