Scholarship Benefit

  • Recipients will receive between €1,000 and €3,000 per year, with the actual amount set by LUC based on the applicant’s circumstances and the amount of funds available.

     

  • The duration of the funding is one academic year. Students will be invited to request renewal of their financial support for the subsequent academic year at the conclusion of that academic year.

     

  • Renewal of financial support is discretionary and not guaranteed by LUC. Students requesting a renewal must demonstrate that their financial circumstances have not altered.

     

  • A maximum of three academic years may be covered by financial aid (6 semesters).

Eligibility Criteria

  • Prospective students:

     

    • You must have filed an application for admission to LUC prior to submitting your scholarship application.

       

    • You must have already been (conditionally) admitted to LUC during the scholarship selection period (March to May).

       

  • Current LUC students:

     

    • When applying for the scholarship, you must be making satisfactory academic progress and have no major or unverifiable credit deficiencies.

       

  • You have neither a Bachelor’s nor a Master’s degree.

     

  • You are able to give proof that you are unable to attend LUC without financial assistance. See details on the Criteria, necessary documents, and requirements.

How to apply

Before applying, thoroughly review the Criteria, needed documents, and conditions sections, and then follow the processes outlined below:

  • Submit an application for admission to LUC using Leiden University’s online application portal by 1 December if possible (uSis).
  • Please note:
    • To be admitted in time for the scholarship selection period, you are strongly encouraged to meet this early admission application deadline!
    • Current LUC students are exempt from this requirement.
  • Before the 15th of March, specify in the scholarship area of your online application (uSis) that you desire to apply for the LUC financial support program.
  • Upload the following items to your online scholarship application, as outlined in the Criteria, needed documents, and conditions section, and then click the submit button:
    • Motivation letter
    • Financial plan (using this template)
    • Supporting documents
