The Destination Australia Scholarship has been established under the Destination Australia Program of the Commonwealth government.
It aims to encourage and support foreign and domestic students to study in regional Australia, to promote and improve regional Australian tertiary education institutions, and to provide students with a high-quality learning experience.

About the Flinders University
The public Flinders University is located in Adelaide, South Australia. It was founded in 1966 and named after Matthew Flinders, who explored and mapped the South Australian coastline in the early nineteenth century.
Flinders is a verdant university[citation needed] and a member of the Innovative Research Universities (IRU) Group, ranking 10-16 in Australia and 36th in the world among institutions established less than 50 years.
Scholarship Benefit
The amount of each scholarship will be $15,000 each year for the duration of the recipient’s program, up to a maximum of four years.

Eligibility Criteria
An applicant must:
- Be commencing a bachelor’s degree at Flinders University’s Riverland campus; or
- Beginning the Doctor of Medicine program at Flinders NT Campus.
- Retain permanent residency in a regional area, as defined by the Australian Bureau of Statistics’ 2016 Australian Statistical Geography Standard Remoteness Structure; and
- Be enrolled full-time.
