Applications for the AU Emerging Global Leader Scholarship 2022 are now being accepted, and they are encouraged to be submitted by international students located in every region of the world.
The AU EGL scholarship covers all billable AU expenditures (full tuition, lodging and board) for one overseas student who requires a visa to study in the United States (ideally an F-1 or J-1 student visa). The scholarship does not cover non-billable fees such as required health insurance, books, airline tickets, and other costs (about $4,000 per year).

The AU Emerging Global Leader Scholarship covers;

Eligibility Criteria
The AU Emerging Global Leader Scholarship is available to international students, with preference given to:
- Students from diverse and underrepresented cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, as well as international students who have surmounted several barriers and hardships.
- Minimum 3.8 GPA equivalent out of 4.0 GPA (or in the top 10 percent of the graduating class) for grades 9-12.
- A demonstrated dedication to leadership, volunteerism, community service, and the advancement of people’s needs in their own nation.
- Students with the following qualifications:
- 95+ on the TOEFL iBT (all subscores must be 20 or above)
- Subscores of 24 or higher on the printed TOEFL (Taken after May 31, 2018)
- 7.0+ IELTS (all subscores must be 6.0 or above)
- 33 minimum SAT Reading Subscore
- 29 minimal ACT English
- 65 minimum PTE
- 120+ Duolingo (all subscores must be 110 or above)
- Students enrolled in secondary or high school who will graduate by June 2022.
- Important: IB students should intend to graduate with a full IB diploma that includes at least three HL subjects. Before August 2022, students enrolled in the British A-Levels system must complete at least three A levels and 13 years of study.
Ineligibility: You are NOT eligible to apply if;
- You are a citizen of the United States, a permanent resident of the United States, or a dual citizen of the United States and another country.
- You are currently enrolled or have previously began postsecondary education at an university in your home country or the United States.
- You completed high school before the year 2020.
