The scholarship grant has a value of €2,500 and is given to the recipient to put toward the cost of tuition for the selected program.

About the University

The Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore is an Italian private research university that was established in 1921. It is often known as UCSC, UNICATT, or simply Cattolica. Cattolica is the largest private university in Europe and the largest Catholic institution in the world. It has five associated campuses, making it the largest private university overall.

It is possible to attend classes at one of its satellite campuses in Brescia, Piacenza, Cremona, or Rome in addition to the main campus in Milan, Italy. The institution is broken up into 12 different faculties as well as 7 different postgraduate schools.

Undergraduate students at Cattolica can earn a Bachelor’s degree, which is equivalent to the Italian Laurea Triennale. Graduate students can get a Master’s degree, which is equivalent to the Italian Laurea Magistrale, or a focusing master. Cattolica also offers Ph.D. programs (Dottorati di Ricerca).

The international university ranking system QS Stars has awarded the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore with five stars in each of the following categories: employability, teaching, facilities, and engagement.

However, the Agostino Gemelli University Polyclinic is the teaching hospital for the medical school at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. It owes its name to the Franciscan friar, physician, and psychologist Agostino Gemelli, who was also the founder of the university.

In addition, the university’s research efforts includes over 3,000 active research projects in 2009, 4,668 publications, and 4 atheneum centers.

There are a total of 70 research centers, 22 departments, and 54 institutions that are responsible for the research. It is the goal of the 22 departments (if these are added to the 16 that refer to the medical care area), which is part of the effort to stimulate and affirm the activities of institutional research and contribute to the organization of doctoral research, to work together to accomplish these goals (Ph.D.).

The Atheneum Centers were established in 2007, and their facilities include frameworks for the design, development, and execution of research initiatives, as well as training on a variety of social issues.

The areas of bioethics, the family, social teaching, and international solidarity are the ones that typically get the most attention at the various atheneum centers.

According to a study that was conducted by the International Student Barometer, which was a survey of a sample of 65 universities in Europe, the University of Cattolica holds the second position in Europe and the fourth position at the international level among the universities that receive the most recommendations from international students.

The university has been given an overall ranking of 481 by the QS World University Rankings for the year 2018. As of the year 2017, the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore is ranked among the top 100 institutions worldwide in the field of law and legal studies, among the top 150 institutions in the field of economics and econometrics, among the top 180 institutions in the field of agriculture and forestry, among the top 200 institutions in accounting and finance, among the top 250 institutions in business and management, and so on.

In addition, the university has received a graduate employability rating of between 81 and 90 out of 100. The LLP – Erasmus Network, the UCSC International Bilateral Agreements, the ISEP Network, the International Network of Universities (INU), the Fédération des Universités Catholiques Européenes (FUCE), the Fédération Internationale des Universités Catholiques (FIUC), and the International Partnership of Business Schools are some of the international networks that the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore is a member of (IPBS).

Scholarship Benefits

For any Master’s degree study that is pursued at the Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, the selected international candidates will each receive an award from the Universita Cattolica International Scholarships program in the amount of €2,500, which will be applied to the standing tuition fee of €10,000.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Students from all international countries are eligible to apply.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Students can apply for Master’s degree programmes taught at UNICATT.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The applicants must have applied for a master’s degree programme present in the list of eligible programmes.

How to Apply

  • How to Apply: Students must fill out and submit their admissions applications through the university’s website. All qualifying students will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Supporting Documents: The following documents must be presented to the university by the students:
  • Copy of passport/ID document
  • Copy of most up to date transcript
  • SAT or ACT (if required)
  • An updated version of Curriculum Vitae
  • Motivation letter
  • Admission Requirements: All academic transcripts must be submitted at the time of application.
  • Language Requirement: Students must meet the university’s English language competency criteria.
