About the University of Edinburgh

University Of EdinburghThe University of Edinburgh has had a significant impact on history since it welcomed its first students in 1583, including Nobel laureates, Olympic winners, space explorers, and prime ministers.

The University was at the forefront of scholarship and critical thinking following the Scottish Enlightenment of the 18th century. Established truths about the world were being boldly and persistently questioned thanks to the endurance and tenacity of a group of academics from Edinburgh.
