The University of Western Australia is delighted to confirm the recipients of its 2022–2023 Global Excellence Scholarships, which will be high-achieving students from all across the world.

Students from designated nations who are applying to specific programs will have the opportunity to receive the scholarship at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The scholarship will provide the recipient with a reduction in the annual tuition cost for the duration of the course that they are enrolled in full-time, as outlined in their offer letter.

About University of Western Australia (UWA)

University of Western Australia International Fee Scholarships (UIFS) are financial aid opportunities for overseas students who are pursuing higher degrees by research (HDR) at The University of Western Australia (hence referred to simply as “the University”).

Under the Higher Education Support Act 2003, the Australian government established the Research Training Program (RTP), which allocates a specific pool of funding to provide financial assistance to local and international students who are pursuing research-based doctoral and master’s degrees in the field of research.

Scholarships offered by the Australian Government Research Training Program are the means by which this assistance is made available. The Commonwealth Scholarships Guidelines (Research) 2017 detail the requirements that must be met in order to participate in the Research Training Program.

Aim and Benefits of University of Western Australia Global Excellence Scholarship

  • Undergraduate students who begin relevant courses in 2022 are eligible to receive a scholarship worth up to AUD$48,000 over the course of four years.
  • Undergraduate students who begin eligible courses in 2022 are eligible to receive up to AUD$36,000 over the course of three years.

Requirements for University of Western Australia Global Excellence Scholarship Qualification

Applicants must fulfill the requirements below in order to be considered for the University of Western Australia’s Global Excellence Scholarship 2022:

  • Be a citizen of the one of the eligible countries.
  • Have received an offer for an undergraduate or postgraduate course at the University of Western Australia.
  • Have achieved an equivalent: ATAR of 88.00 – 98.00+; or WAM of 70.00 – 85.00+. If studying an approved International Academic Pathway (Articulation Program), students must have achieved a WAM equivalent of more than 75.00.
  • Be proficient in the use of English language.
  • Be willing to abide by the rules and regulations governing the conduct of students at the University.
