Scholarship Description:
The University of Birmingham’s School of Computer Science has three scholarships available. DeepMind has generously financed this fellowship. It is open to those who have been offered a place on the MSc in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
With the help of DeepMind, the university is committed to boosting accessibility and diversifying its student body.
Degree Level:
University of Birmingham UK DeepMind Scholarship for Postgraduate Program 2022/2023 is available to undertake Postgraduate level programs at University of Birmingham.

The following categories of study are open to students who are awarded funding through this particular scholarship program.

Scholarship Benefits:
We now have three scholarships available: Two in the United Kingdom and One in another country.
There are two Home scholarships worth £29,860 each available. The scholarship’s value is applied to the following:
- £10,620 in tuition fees in the United Kingdom.
- A £15,840 maintenance grant (to be used for living expenses) given in instalments throughout the course of the course.
- Up to £2,000 in funding to attend an international conference in the field of AI and/or Machine Learning during the programme, as well as £1,500 towards the purchase of necessary equipment (suitable laptop etc.).
There is one international scholarship worth £47,680 available. The scholarship’s value is applied to the following:
- Tuition expenses for international students – £26,640.
- A £15,840 maintenance grant (to be used for living expenses) given in instalments throughout the course of the course.
- Up to £2,000 in funding to attend an international conference in the field of AI and/or Machine Learning during the programme, as well as £1,500 towards the purchase of necessary equipment (suitable laptop etc.).
- £1700 to help with relocation expenses.

Eligibility Criteria:
Applications are now being accepted through our online form. Please only make an application once you have received a conditional/unconditional offer, as we cannot consider you until you hold one.
The deadline for applying is 30 June 2022.
Applications will be considered by a selection panel at the School of Computer Science throughout August 2022 based on the following criteria:
- Already holding a conditional or unconditional offer for the MSc Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
- Meeting the eligibility categories.
- Providing additional supporting documentation and evidence (if required).
Successful recipients will be selected on the basis of:
- Content of application.
- Confirmation of eligibility (as specified in criteria and supported by any required evidence).
The DeepMind scholarship offer may be ‘conditional’ until academic offer conditions are met (provision of academic results, outstanding offer conditions, etc.).
Applicants must also:
- Be able to demonstrate that they would not be able to take up the offer of admission without financial assistance.
- Have already received a conditional/unconditional offer to study the MSc Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at the University of Birmingham; and
- Be ordinarily resident in the UK and would be classified as UK for fee paying purposes.
