Singapore Scholarships for International Students (2022/23)
The National University of Singapore (abbreviated NUS) is a Singaporean autonomous university.
It was founded in 1905 and is Singapore’s oldest institute of higher learning (IHL), as well as the country’s largest university in terms of student enrollment and curriculum offered.
NUS is a research-intensive, all-encompassing university with an entrepreneurial bent.
In the 2020 QS World University Rankings and Times Higher Education World University Rankings, NUS is ranked among Asia’s top two universities.
NUS is ranked 15th in the world and 2nd in Asia in the 2018 QS World University Rankings.

Eligibility
- Available worldwide;
- Graduates with a strong interest in cross-disciplinary research in science, engineering, computing, and related medical fields.
- Graduates with at least a second upper honors degree, or equivalent qualifications.
- Except for NUS and NTU Bachelor degree holders and final-year undergraduates, all applicants must take the GRE.
- Please keep in mind that GATE cannot replace it.
- TOEFL / IELTS (either can be used) is only required for applicants whose native language or medium of undergraduate instruction is not English.
Scholarship Benefits
- Monthly stipend for up to four years of Ph.D. studies OR until graduation, whichever comes first.
- SGD 3,500 for Singapore Citizens, plus Central Provident Fund (CPF) contributions at a rate pegged to the prevailing employer’s contribution rate set by CPF.
- SGD 3,200 for Singapore Permanent Residents.
- SGD 3,000 for International students.
