Federal University Lokoja (FUL) celebrated a significant milestone as the Abdul Samad Rabiu Initiative (ASR Africa) kicked off the construction of a state-of-the-art central research laboratory. The project, valued at N250 million, is part of the Tertiary Education Grants Scheme (TEGS) aimed at boosting infrastructure in tertiary institutions.
The groundbreaking ceremony, held on Friday, was attended by excited members of the university community. Vice-Chancellor Professor Olayemi Akinwumi expressed deep gratitude to Alhaji Abdul Samad Rabiu, Chairman of ASR Africa and Founder of BUA Group, for his generous support. He also commended Dr. Ubo Udoh, MD/CEO of ASR Africa and a former PhD student of his, along with the team of professionals for their dedication in bringing this project to fruition.
This new central research laboratory is expected to significantly enhance the research capabilities of FUL, providing advanced facilities for students and staff.
