About the Newnham College

Newnham College is a college for women that is part of the University of Cambridge. The group Lectures for Ladies, which included philosopher Henry Sidgwick and suffragist Millicent Garrett Fawcett, started the college in 1871.

It was the second college for women to open in Cambridge, after Girton College. The College will celebrate its 150th birthday all through 2021 and 2022.
