Erica Jolly, a graduate of Flinders University and a Companion of the University, has established the Erica Jolly Indigenous Bursary through a generous donation.
The purpose of the bursary is to encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to enrol in a higher education programme in the field of education, including special education.

About the Flinders University
The public Flinders University is located in Adelaide, South Australia. It was founded in 1966 and named after Matthew Flinders, who explored and mapped the South Australian coastline in the early nineteenth century.
Flinders is a verdant university[citation needed] and a member of the Innovative Research Universities (IRU) Group, ranking 10-16 in Australia and 36th in the world among institutions established less than 50 years.
The university pioneered a cross-disciplinary approach to teaching, and its faculties of medicine and the humanities are considered among the top 10 in the country.

Scholarship Benefits
One bursary will be awarded each year, subject to funding availability. The value of the bursary will be $500.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants for the scholarship must:
- Be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent in Australia; and
- Identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Australian; and
- Accepted as an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander by the community in which he or she currently resides or formerly resided.
- Full-time enrollment in an Education or Special Education undergraduate programme at Flinders University.
How to apply
Applications must be submitted electronically via the Student Information System at Flinders University. To submit an application, applicants must log in and proceed to the My Scholarships tab. This scholarship’s application form is titled “Indigenous Scholarships,” or you can search for it using the phrase “Indigenous.” If you submit this application, you will be evaluated for numerous scholarships.
