PhD Scholarship at Copenhagen Business School on the Value of Financial Advice in Denmark 2022/2023

The Center for Corporate Governance (CCG), a division of the Department of Accounting at the Copenhagen Business School, seeks applications for a PhD Scholarship on the Value of Financial Advice.

On September 15, 2022, the project is expected to begin. Several departments and institutions within and outside of Copenhagen Business School are represented in this virtual forum for the advancement of corporate governance knowledge, which is known as the Center for Corporate Governance (CCG).

Among the students and faculty are economists, accountants, lawyers, and government officials, as well as academics in these fields.

We’re in charge of overseeing everything from research projects to workshops to conferences to doctoral education to seminars. “Nordic Finance and the Good Society” is the name of a significant research project that this job will be a part of.

Corporate governance, finance, and accounting are some of the subjects covered by the department’s undergraduate and graduate courses.

Most of the programs are taught in English, and more than half of the faculty is recruited from abroad, making Copenhagen Business School an international academic environment.

A PhD Scholarship on the Value of Financial Advice could help fund studies in the following areas:

Copenhagen Business School (abbreviated as CBS in Danish) is a public university in Copenhagen, Denmark that is widely considered as one of the world’s most prominent business schools.

The school is recognized by EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System), AMBA (Association of MBAs), and AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), making it one of only two “triple-crown” schools in Denmark (the other being Aarhus BSS).

The Copenhagen Business School campus is located in Frederiksberg, close to the city center of Copenhagen, and is concentrated on the school’s main campus, Solbjerg Plads, which was completed in 2000.

Benefits

A three-year PhD scholarship on the Value of Financial Advice is available, with six months of teaching requirements (840 work hours).

The scholarships are fully paid employment, according to the national Danish collective agreement.

The monthly wage is now DKK 27,871 depending on seniority, with a 17.1% pension contribution.

Tuition, office space, course fees, and travel expenses are all covered by the PhD Scholarship on the Value of Financial Advice (according to the current CBS agreement).

Requirements for PhD Scholarship on the Value of Financial Advice

The applicant must fulfill all of the following requirements in order to be considered for the PhD Scholarship on the Value of Financial Advice:

  • possess a fundamental education equivalent to that of a master’s degree (this corresponds to the 3 + 2 Bologna method).
  • have been awarded a score of 10 (or above) on the Danish 7-point grading scale for the master’s thesis (https://ufm.dk/en/education/the-danish-education-system/grading-system).
  • possess a weighted grade point average of at least 8.2 on the Danish 7-point grading system for both the bachelor’s degree and the master’s degree combined, or possess a weighted grade point average of at least 9.5 for the master’s degree alone.
  • have your master’s degree under your belt before enrolling in the PhD program at CBS; this means you should be able to write and communicate academic English at an advanced level.

How to Apply for PhD Scholarship on the Value of Financial Advice

In order to be considered for the PhD Scholarship on the Value of Financial Advice, applicants are required to submit a research description that is five pages long (see link below). The following items must be included in the project description:

  • a presentation of a unique research problem
  • a description of the theoretical framework and procedure that was used in the beginning
  • a three-year work plan a presentation of the proposed empirical material

Copies of the following documents must be submitted in addition to the project description:

  • diplomas for bachelor’s and master’s degrees, as well as other equivalent certificates and grade transcripts
  • a curriculum vitae that is succinct (CV)
  • a list of publications and articles (if applicable)
  • one example of a chosen piece of writing (e.g., a master’s thesis)
