The Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship awards Art Master’s Scholarships annually (Artists). Swiss cantonal institutions, universities of applied sciences, and the two federal institutes of technology provide research scholarships. Only academic mentors at these colleges will nominate candidates.

Art students seeking a master’s degree in Switzerland can apply for scholarships. Swiss conservatories and art universities offer art scholarships. Applicants must already have a study spot. This scholarship is only for certain nations.

These scholarships give recent graduates from all fields the chance to pursue master’s, doctoral, or postdoctoral research at a public university or other recognized institution in Switzerland.

Requirements for Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships Qualification

The FCS evaluates scholarship applications based on three standards:

  •  Candidate profile
  •  Quality of the research project or artistic work
  • Synergies and potential for future research cooperation

The competent state authorities and/or the Swiss diplomatic representation may pre-select applications. The Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS) evaluates the applications that were shortlisted before making its judgment.

Professors from all Swiss public universities make up the FCS. Academic and scientific excellence is the criterion used to award scholarships.

University Scholarship applicants must:

  • possess a university degree (Bachelors or Masters) at the time the scholarship is awarded.
  • possess the ability to articulate their academic goals and talents.
  • Get in touch with the organization or the professor overseeing their research period. Universities may ask for further information or impose additional requirements to see if you meet the requirements for admission.
  • Be younger than 35 years old (born on or after 1 January 1977).
  • To profit fully from their studies in Switzerland, students must be adequately fluent in the language of instruction (French, German, Italian, or English).
