The School of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Leeds is pleased to provide International Masters Excellence Scholarships to support the studies of talented and deserving students in the United Kingdom. The university is accepting applications for the 2023-2024 academic year.
Seven awards are offered for high-achieving international students to pursue a master’s degree in mechanical engineering at the School of Mechanical Engineering. The scholars will receive a 25 percent reduction in tuition fees at the University of Leeds.

Eligibility Criteria

- Eligible Subjects or courses: Master’s degree programs are offered in the following disciplines:
- MSc in Aerospace Engineering
- MSc in Advanced Mechanical Engineering (Eng)
- Medical Engineering MSc
- Automotive Engineering MSc
- Eligibility Criteria: To qualify, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
- Be considered an international student for tuition purposes
- Have submitted an application for 2023/2024 enrollment to a master’s programme listed in the approved courses section.
- Be an independent student
- Possess an outstanding academic record and be predicted to earn or have earned a Bachelor’s degree with a 2:1 (honors) or equivalent, based on the standards employed by the School for offer purposes.
- Demonstrate outstanding professional and personal abilities via work experience and/or extracurricular activities.
- Demonstrate the ability to contribute to the social and cultural diversity of our master’s degree programs and student body.
How to apply
- How to Apply: If you have applied to the School for a master’s program at the university, you can use an online application form to apply for this scholarship.
- Documents to Back It Up: Pre-qualification degree, copies of academic transcripts and awards, a statement, and a copy of your passport.
- Admission requirements: To get into a master’s program at the university, you need at least a UK 2.1 bachelor’s degree in English or a closely related subject.
- Language requirement: If English is not your first language, you must show that you can speak it well by getting an IELTS score of 6.5 or the equivalent.
