Job Description
An organization’s network infrastructure is managed by a Computer Network Technician, who is also sometimes referred to simply as a Network Technician.
This person is responsible for the installation of, operation of, maintenance of, upgrades to, and repairs to computer and network equipment.
In addition to developing and managing an organization’s internet, intranets, and extranets, computer network technicians are responsible for the maintenance, resolution, and supervision of the use of local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs).
Their responsibility is to monitor and improve the network’s connectivity as well as its overall performance.

The day-to-day activities of a company’s computer network are kept under constant surveillance by technicians. Additionally, they assist in the process of deploying hardware and software across all of the systems.

Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and administrate the utilization of mainframe networks, local area networks (LANs), and wide area networks (WANs), as well as computer workstations and peripheral devices.
- Perform an analysis of the computer hardware, as well as the installation of the operating system software and networking software.
- Conduct operations on master consoles to coordinate access to and use of computer networks, as well as to monitor the functioning of computer systems and networks.

- Prepare the computer by loading tapes and disks, installing software, and setting up the printer with paper and forms.
