About the George Brown College
George Brown College was founded in 1967 and now provides over 160 full-time programs in a variety of subject areas. It is a fully accredited public college of applied arts and technology with three downtown Toronto campuses.

Scholarship Benefit
International students are eligible for a variety of honors, scholarships, and bursaries from George Brown College. The scholarships and opportunities are accessible to both full-time and part-time GBC students.
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible Countries: Applications from throughout the globe are welcomed
- Eligible Courses or Subjects: The scholarship is open to overseas students enrolled full-time in any program. Provided by the GBC
- Eligibility Requirements: To be qualified, applicants must satisfy all of the following criteria:
- Full-Time: Full-time students must take at least 60 percent of the required courses for their program, or 40 percent if they have a permanent impairment.
- Part-Time: Full-time students must take between 20 and 59% of the required courses for their program.
- Domestic Student – Ontario Resident: Students who hold valid Canadian citizenship or Permanent residency and dwell in the province of Ontario for more than 12 months.
- International Student: Students studying in Canada do not qualify for permanent residency.
- Candidates must be students from abroad.
- Students must demonstrate financial hardship.
- Minimum grade point average of 2.5
- Students must overcome challenges

How to apply
- How to Apply: Applicants must fill out an online application in order to apply.
- Visit the Student Awards Information Page for a step-by-step guide on how to apply for awards on STU-VIEW. On STU-VIEW, all students can see where their application is in the process.
- Supporting Documents: Applicants will be asked to submit supporting documents online along with their applications. Provide proof of high school and/or college studies, such as transcripts, and a minimum academic English requirement of Grade 12U, C, or OAC English or equivalent.
- Admissions requirements: Each program has different academic requirements, so make sure you know what you need to do before you apply.
- Language Requirement: An international student must be able to speak and understand English. For more information on admission requirements by country of origin, check out the international page: English language proficiency.

The following deadlines apply to award applications:
During the 2022-2023 academic year –
- Winter 2023: Opens on December 12, 2022, and stays open until January 29, 2023 (11:59 pm)
- Spring 2023: Starts on April 17, 2023, and goes through May 28, 2023 (11:59 pm)
For the Academic Year 2023-2024 –
Fall 2023: Applications will be accepted from August 22 to October 15, 2023.
- Winter 2023: Applications will be accepted from December 12, 2023, to February 15, 2024.
- Spring 2023: Applications will be accepted from April 18 to June 15, 2024.
