Université Paris-Saclay aims to promote access for international students to its Master’s programmes, provided by its faculties, component-institutions, and associated universities, and to make it easier for highly-qualified international students to join the University, particularly those who wish to develop an academic project through doctoral research.
Scholarships will be awarded for the school year of 2023-2024. Established with the IDEX funding of the 3rd Programme Investissements d’Avenir, and based on academic achievement, these scholarships are intended for students admitted to a Master’s programme delivered by Université Paris-Saclay and provided by one of the following institutions: AgroParisTech, CentraleSupelec, Ecole Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay (ENS Paris-Saclay), INSTN-CEA, Institut d’Optique (UVSQ).
These scholarships are offered for 1 or 2 years to students enrolled in a Master’s degree at Université Paris-Saclay, based on their entrance level (M1 or M2) and the amount of credits required to progress to the next academic year.

Scholarship Benefits
- The Université Paris-Saclay scholarship is worth 10,000€ annually. Université Paris-Saclay pays it for the course of the academic year and ten consecutive months (September to June).
- Depending on the candidate’s place of origin, up to one thousand euros may be awarded for travel and visa expenditures.
- The laureates will get their scholarship and travel expenses only after they have arrived in France and registered in the programme for which they were accepted.
Eligibility Criteria
Are eligible:
- Students admitted to a Master’s programme at Paris-Saclay University offered by one of the following institutions: AgroParisTech, CentraleSupelec, ENS Paris, INSTN-CEA, IOGS, UEVE, UPSaclay, or UVSQ. Only those pupils who meet one of the following requirements are eligible to apply:
- Newly arrived overseas students under the age of 30 during the selection year
- Students of foreign nationality living in France for less than one year who have previously or are now engaged in an unaccredited training programme or internship.
- Students of foreign nationality residing in France for less than a year who are enrolled in language courses (type FFL).
- Students who had previously resided in France as part of a mobility project (e.g. Erasmus Mundus Dual Master’s Degrees, exchange programmes) that did not result in certification.
Are ineligible:
- Any students who have been or are enrolled in a French institution of higher education during their studies, with the exception of international students enrolling in a French institution of higher education overseas.
- Students who have suspended their education for more than three years in a row.
- Students receiving any other form of aid whose monthly value exceeds €650.
Along with UNHCR (the UN Refugee Agency) and with the support of MEnS (Migrants in Higher Education), Paris-Saclay University is introducing a bonus system for refugee students or students with subsidiary protection under the IDEX scholarship scale.
Please note this status in your statement of aim as soon as you submit your application for the master’s degree if you are concerned.
How to apply
- Selected students will receive an email with a link to an online application form.
Students who desire to apply must complete the online application form and give (required) the names and contact details of two references who are ready to submit a reference for the candidate (director of studies, professor, internship coordinator…). - Each of the candidate’s two references will receive an email including a link to an online recommendation form. Students will be required to complete and submit the application prior to the scholarship deadline.
The candidate will be notified automatically when each referee submits the form. - The application file for a scholarship will be considered complete once the referees have submitted both recommendation forms.
Please note that the candidate will not receive an application completion confirmation message.
The candidate is responsible for ensuring that both referees submit the form by the deadline specified in the invitation email.
Incomplete or submitted after the deadline applications will be immediately rejected.
