To begin, if you want to attend any of the Nigerian universities that are listed below and study Adult Education, you have to get a score that is at least equal to 180 on the JAMB test. This is the minimum score required.

2. UNIBEN Accepts/requires:
- Adult Education English and Literature requires Literature in English, one Art subject plus any other subject.
- Adult Education Political Science and Public Administration they accept History or Government, one Social Science Subject plus any other subject.
- Adult Education Professional accepts any three subjects chosen from social sciences or Arts.
- Adult Education Geography and Regional Planning, they accept Geography, one Social Science subject in addition to any other subject.
- For Adult Education Economics and Statistics requires Economics, Mathematics, and one other Art or Social Science subject
3. UNILAG requires any three (3) of Literature in English, Government/History, Geography, French, Math, Yoruba/Igbo, Economics, Commerce, and CRK/IRS.
4. TASUED(Tai Solarin University Of Education) accepts any three (3) subjects.
5. UNN accepts:
- Candidates who wish to combine Adult Education with English are obliged, in addition to taking any other arts subjects, to include Literature and the English Language among their UME subjects. The school demands the English Language in addition to any other Arts or Science disciplines that are pertinent to the candidate’s choice of combination in the event that they choose to pursue a combination other than English and Science.
- Candidates seeking admission into the four-year degree program at UNN are required to demonstrate proficiency in the English language in addition to any other three (3) topics in arts and science. This requirement applies to all three professional Adult Education choices.
6. MAIDUGURI requires any three (3) subjects.
Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates
The following is a list of the various Direct Entry admission requirements that must be met by Direct Entry candidates in order to be accepted into any of the universities listed below to study Adult Education without first taking the UTME.
- Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes.
- NCE merit in two (2) subjects.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION
- UNIBEN requires ‘A’ level subjects in relevant Social Science and Arts subjects in addition to 3 O’Level passes in English Language at one sitting.
2. UNN accepts:
- Candidates who have earned an ND (also known as a credit, merit, or distinction level) in a subject area that is not directly related to adult education. In order to qualify for Direct Entry into a four-year program, candidates must not only meet the minimal standards for entry set forth by the UNN, but also have earned a credit in an arts or science topic that is directly relevant to the program.
- Candidates with Advanced level passes in GCE or principal level in HSC in at least 2 subjects which will also include that to be combined with Adult Education.
3. UNIPORT – Don’t accept Direct Entry.
4. UNIBEN accepts:
- Upper Credit in ND in any of the areas listed in (ii) in addition to three (3) ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language and others in one sitting.
- 2/3 NCE merit passes in addition to 3/2 O/Level credit passes in English Language and others at one sitting.
5. UNIMAID accepts HND/ND at the credit level.
6. UNILAG requires;
- Candidates to meet the O/Level requirements.
- They also require 2 ‘A’ Level passes from History, English, Geography, French, Mathematics, CRS/IRS, Government, Yoruba/Igbo, and Economics.
- UNILAG accepts very good passes in three (3) JUPEB subjects from French, Lit-in English, Government, Economics, CRS/IRS, History, Geography, Igbo, Yoruba, and Mathematics.
- NCE: History, English, French, Mathematics, Geography, CRS/IRS, Igbo/Yoruba, Government, and Economics.
7. NDU – Same as Vocational and Technical Education.
8. TASUED requires;
- At least NCE Merit/ Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes or a Diploma in Adult Education and another relevant teaching subject which must be from a recognized institution with upper credit.
- HND/OND with upper credit.
9. With regard to the UI, TC II forms are not accepted after the year 1981. They demand a credit in mathematics from students who wish to study Economics as well as any combination of subjects that involve science.
In the meantime, a passing grade in mathematics is required for those interested in social sciences.

O’Level Subjects for Adult Education
You are required to have five (5) credit passes in the following O-Level courses in order to enroll in Adult Education. These subjects are as follows:
- Mathematics.
- English Language.
- And any three subjects from French, Literature in English, History, Yoruba, Christian Religious Studies, Igbo, Hausa, Islamic Studies, Economics, Geography/Physic, and Government or TC II with a pass in English Language and any other four subjects.

- Mathematics, English Language, and any three of CRK/IRK, Igbo/Yoruba, History/Government, French, Geography, and Economics are required for a total of five ‘O’ level credits to be eligible for admission to UNILAG.
- TASUED demands 5 ‘O’ Level credit passes in one sitting or 6 ‘O’ Level credit passes in two sittings, with subjects such as English Language and others from the Arts, Sciences, or Social Sciences. A pass in Math at ‘O’ Level is also essential.
- UNICAL requires a pass in Mathematics and a credit pass in the English Language.
- ESUT doesn’t insist on Mathematics.
- UNN requires the following:
- For admission to any four-year degree program, candidates must have five (5) credit passes at the GCE O’ level or SSCE in English Language, a Science subject, and any three (3) other appropriate courses.
- Candidates are required to satisfy University basic admission requirements plus entry requirements of the particular department into which they are seeking a combination for any of the six (6) specialized areas of the combination in the Arts and Social Sciences.
6. UNIPORT requires 5 O-level credit passes in English Language, a teaching topic, and any three additional subjects.
7. AAUA (ADEKUNLE AJASIN UNIVERSITY, AKUNGBA-AKOKO, ONDO STATE) requires 5 “O” Level credit passes in mathematics, English, 3 additional relevant subjects.
8. UI – requires 5 credits in one sitting and it must include English Language.
