The Role

The Aerospace Engineer will work closely with the senior management team, including the Executive Vice President of Engineering and the Vice President of the International Space Station Research and Utilization Office (ISRU), who are two of the most experienced space professionals in Canada. This position will support a wide variety of activities, some of which include but are not limited to space systems engineering, mission design, con-ops, architecture, sensor design, autonomous vehicle design, software programming, data collection, and others depending on the requirements of the position and the skills of the candidate. It will require a variety of tasks such as project management, issue solving, engineering, prototyping, producing technical drawings and reports, as well as some business development.

Education Requirements Include a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Geophysics, in addition to a Bachelor of Science in either Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering. Candidates who have earned a master’s degree or a doctorate are given preference.

Candidates must be legally able to work in Canada and have the ability to get the necessary security clearances for an organisation of this nature operating in the aerospace industry.

Opportunity

This is an opportunity on the second floor (on a space elevator). It is possible that this will be the first full-time technical hire made outside of the top management team. This presents an opportunity to increase one’s knowledge, to advance oneself within the organisation, and to take on greater responsibilities. However, there is a significant potential for equal involvement and low salary expectations. The candidate’s level of experience determines what title they are given.
