Aim and Benefits of Mauritius Africa Scholarships
The Scholarship will help the chosen applicants pay their tuition and cover some of their living expenses while they are studying in Mauritius. Additionally, there will be coverage for airfare on the most practical route from the country of origin at the start of the studies to the country of origin at the conclusion of the studies.
This is applicable for both initial study-related travel from the country of origin and return travel after the studies have been successfully completed.
Requirements for Mauritius Africa Scholarships Qualification
- A candidate for a Mauritius Africa Scholarship must be at least 18 years old and not yet 26 at the time of application.
- A candidate for a Master’s program must not yet be 35 years old.
- A candidate for a PhD program must not yet be 45 years old by the time time of application.
The scholarship will last for a maximum of four (4) years or the minimum course duration, whichever is less. - Applicants must have applied for full-time on-campus study at any public Tertiary Education Institution in Mauritius for the academic year beginning in 2022.

- Qualification entry requirements
- Candidates for Mauritius Africa Scholarships must have completed their secondary education successfully and meet the minimum grade standards listed below in order to be eligible: I 24 points at GCE A-Level, which are calculated based on the grades of A+=10, A=9, B=8, C=7, D=6, & E=5 in three principal subjects; (ii) at least a 70 percent overall average or a 14/20 overall average; or (iii) criteria that are similar to I or (ii) above.
- The candidate must present a valid TOEFL or IELTS test result with a minimum score of not less than 550 or 5.5, respectively, or an adequate proof of English language proficiency if the qualifying examination’s medium of instruction is not English.
- Candidates with an undergraduate degree in hand already ARE NOT ELIGIBLE for this scholarship program.
- Candidates who are currently self-financing their education in Mauritius are ineligible for this scholarship program.
