Stanford University and Elsevier have named two eminent academics from the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Professor Olayide Lawal and Dr. Temitope Adefarati, in the top 2% of scientists worldwide. The announcement, which has confirmed FUOYE’s rising prominence as a global academic leader, has caused a surge of celebration throughout the university.
“To God alone be the glory,” said Professor Lawal, Director of Research and Development at FUOYE and an expert in Industrial and Macromolecular Chemistry, in his expression of thankfulness. This accomplishment is evidence of the conducive atmosphere our Vice-Chancellor established for excellence to flourish. He also emphasized the teamwork that led to this award by praising the joint efforts of his students and colleagues. Prof. Lawal has been on this esteemed list for a number of years. He is a fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in Germany.
A lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Temitope Adefarati is an expert in power systems, smart grid technologies, and renewable energy. Through a large number of publications and speeches at international conferences, he has made a significant contribution to worldwide research. “I am extremely proud and humbled to be regarded as one of the best scientists in the world,” Dr. Adefarati said in response to the distinction. This honor is a testament to my personal dedication to research as well as the work of my mentors, colleagues, and students.
