The Faculty of Engineering Merit Scholarships will be awarded to about 35 students who have an admission average of 95 to 100 percent ($5,000) or 90 to 94.9 percent ($4,000). Candidates must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate degree at the Faculty of Engineering for the first time.

Concordia University is a public, comprehensive, English-language research university in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The institution was founded in 1974 as a result of the merging of Loyola College and Sir George Williams University. It is one of three universities in Quebec where English is the predominant medium of instruction (the other two are McGill and Bishop’s).

Concordia University has 51,253 credit students enrolled in the 2020–21 academic year, making it one of the largest universities in Canada by enrolment. The institution has two campuses, each about 7 kilometers (4 miles) apart: Sir George Williams Campus in the Quartier Concordia sector of Downtown Montreal in the Ville Marie municipality, and Loyola Campus in the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce residential zone.

Concordia University, on the other hand, has four faculties, a graduate school, and numerous colleges, centers, and institutes, offering over 400 undergraduate and graduate programs and courses. The John Molson School of Business at Concordia University consistently ranks among the top 10 Canadian business schools and the top 100 internationally.

In the International Professional Classification of Higher Education Institutions, Concordia University was ranked sixth in Canada and 229th globally. TopUniversities.com classified the university as the 17th top university in Canada in 2021.

Concordia University is a non-sectarian, coeducational college with a global alumni base of approximately 230,000. The Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada, the International Association of Universities, the Canadian Association of Research Libraries, the Canadian University Society for Intercollegiate Debate, the Canadian Bureau for International Education, and the Canadian University Press are all members of the university.

The university’s original institutions date back more than 160 years. Concordia University was founded on August 24, 1974, when Loyola College (1896) and Sir George Williams University merged (1926). Concordia University acknowledged on February 16, 2017 that it is built on unceded Indigenous territories.

Concordia University has also ranked highly in postsecondary school rankings. The university was placed 501–600 in the globe in the Academic Ranking of World Universities for 2021. The university was ranked 521–530 in the globe in the QS World University Rankings for 2022.

Concordia University was ranked 601–800 in the globe in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2022. The university was ranked 657th in the world in the U.S. News & World Report global university rankings for 2022. Maclean’s Canadian university rankings also gave the university a rating. Maclean’s magazine ranked Concordia University 13th in Canada in the comprehensive universities category in October 2021.

Merit Scholarships at the Faculty of Engineering are worth a lot of money

The Merit Scholarships at the Faculty of Engineering will be awarded in the following order: 95-100 percent acceptance rate = $5,000, 90-94.9 percent acceptance rate = $4,000.

Eligibility for Merit Scholarships at the Faculty of Engineering

  • To be qualified for Faculty of Engineering Merit Scholarships, you must be an international student.
  • Applicants must be studying full-time in an undergraduate degree program to be qualified.
  • To be eligible for the scholarship, you must have 95 and 100% ($5,000) or between 90 and 94.9% ($4,000). Candidates must be enrolled full-time, for the first time, in an undergraduate program at the Faculty of Engineering.
