Blackface apologizes to 2Face Idibia over song theft allegations

The Afro-pop singer, Ahmedu obiabo popularly known as ‘Black Face’ has issued an apology to Innocent Idibia popularly known as “2Face” or “2baba”.

The apology came off a settlement for their ongoing copyright infringement battle in Lagos on Wednesday.

A copy of the apology letter, which the singer ought to post on social media was exclusively obtained by mydelsu on Wednesday.

Read below:

“Having consulted with my Solicitors, I do hereby revoke all allegations of intellectual property theft and career sabotage previously made against Mr. Innocent Idibia and Mr. Efe Omorogbe. “These statements were erroneously made under misapprehension as to their accuracy, due to prevailing circumstances at the time. I have been advised on the inaccuracy of my previous allegations and retract them entirely. “I undertake to refrain from making any such subsequent statements against the persons of Mr. Innocent Idibia and Mr. Efe Omorogbe in future”.

The long ago best friends came to an agreement at a mediation process held in the presence of 2Face’s manager, Efe Omorogbe, and BlackFace’s lawyer, Manny Enajeroh, in Lagos on Wednesday.

Ronke Kuku was the mediator who oversaw the process at the Ikeja High Court Alternative Dispute Resolution Centre (ADR) section.

Manny Enajeroh who is BlackFace’s solicitor, has also confirmed this latest development.

Mr Enajeroh also sighted a possibility of both artistes recording a track in the future but will ultimately depend on the both parties.

He added that their differences were strictly professional resulting from certain inefficiencies in the copyright infringement system.

Since there is no longer an issue of stealing songs he pointed out that the future of both artistes is still very much bright.

2Face’s manager also confirmed this news adding that his team would issue a statement to the effect on Thursday.
