Here’s a look at the different types of students you’ll likely find during exam period.

1. The Calm and Collected

Yeah I know some of your coursemates fall under this category and they might be the ones who have been putting in so much effort from the beginning of the semester, although some are really good that they always know exactly what to read.

This type of student is the epitome of composure. They’ve prepared well in advance and aren’t fazed by the pressure of exams.

You’ll find them quietly reviewing notes or simply relaxing before the exam starts. This is very good because it helps brain relax, so you can calmly remember all you’ve read.

They exude confidence and are usually among the first to finish, walking out with a smile.

2. The Last-Minute Crammer

These students are the kings and queens of last-minute reading and yeah I know most student fall under this category!

If there’s one thing I’ve noticed about doing this is that it makes your mind unsettled and you end up being riddled by anxiety, although certain students are good at “Last-Minute cramming”

You’ll spot them frantically going through textbooks, handouts, and notes just minutes before the exam. They believe in the magic of late-night study sessions and often manage to retain just enough information to get by.

3. The Unbothered

This student doesn’t appear to be stressed about the exam at all. They might stroll into the exam hall without any visible sign of preparation and maintain a carefree attitude which most Nigerian student would refer to as ” maximum Steeze and composure”.

For them, life goes on as usual, and whether they pass or fail seems to make little difference. But somehow, they survive the exam season without breaking a sweat. You can ask them for more tips on how they manage to survive exams without stressing too much.

4. The Extremely Nervous Ones

You can easily spot these students as they constantly fidget, mumble to themselves, and occasionally break out in a cold sweat. They’ve studied hard, but the anxiety gets the best of them. Often, their fear of failure makes it difficult for them to relax and focus during the exam.

If you fall into this category, remember that deep breathing and staying positive can help calm those pre-exam nerves. Focus on what you know, and try not to overthink. You’ve prepared, and that’s what counts!

Yeah I know we’ve come a long way in this article, just continue reading and I know you’ll definitely not want to miss out on the last one!

5. The Ones Who Didn’t Read, but Will Pass Somehow

This group is an enigma. They barely open a book throughout the semester but still manage to pass. Whether it’s sheer luck, incredible guessing skills, or divine intervention, they somehow escape academic disaster every time.

They should definitely share the secret with us!

6. The Cheater

Perhaps you thought I wouldn’t mention this category, but I’ve saved it for last. Sadly, this type of student exists in every university.

They come prepared—not with notes, but with every trick in the book to cheat. From hiding scribbled notes in pockets to sneaking glances at a neighbor’s paper, these students are willing to take the risk, hoping to avoid the consequences.

If you’re reading this right now and you fall under this category, it’s definitely a sign for you to change this new academic session!
