In a recent announcement from Minna, Niger State, the National Examination Council (NECO) has officially released the results of the 2024 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) for internal candidates. The exams, conducted between June and July 2024, were published 55 days after the final paper, according to NECO Registrar, Prof. Dantani Wushishi.
Key Highlights of the NECO 2024 Results:
• Total Candidates: 1,376,423 candidates registered, with 1,367,736 actually sitting for the exams.
• Overall Performance: 60.55% of candidates (828,284 students) achieved at least five credits, including English and Mathematics.
• Above Five Credits (Excluding English and Math): 83.90% of candidates scored five credits or more.
Top Performing States:
• Abia State: Led the performance chart with 83.40% of its candidates (9,054 out of 10,856) achieving five credits, including English and Mathematics.
• Imo State: Followed closely, with 80.98% of its students (19,226 out of 23,741) meeting the same benchmark.
Lowest Performing States:
• Katsina State: Registered the lowest pass rate, with only 29,633 out of 70,553 candidates (42%) achieving five credits, including English and Mathematics.
• Kano State: Had a pass rate of 44.42%, with 65,264 out of 146,917 candidates meeting the required criteria.
