The Aix-Marseille University is presently seeking Postdoctoral applicants for its 18-Month Bioinformatics Engineer Positions in France. The program is available for the 2022-2023 academic year.

This project aims to develop an unique, integrative instrument to characterize planktonic biodiversity and its evolution in response to environmental variables in order to identify ecological transitions and changes.

The chosen candidate will have the option to work with multiple laboratories at the University of Aix-Marseille.

Scholarship Benefit

The University of Aix-Marseille will provide a salary for applicants. The fellowship is available for 18-month stays in France for the school year 2022/23.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: All nationalities.
  • Eligible Subjects or courses: The institution offers a postdoctoral degree in Computational sciences or in Geomicrobiology, Oceanography, Geochemistry, Biochemistry, Marine Geoscience, Limnology, Microbiology, Ecology, and Bioinformatics.
  • Eligibility Requirements: To qualify, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
  • Evidence of multidisciplinary teamwork and cross-disciplinary communication skills are desirable.
  • Candidates must have a keen interest in marine ecology and environmental science.
    Linux bash scripting familiarity
  • Knowledge of SQL-based languages
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python and R (both for app development and packaging)
  • Knowledge of distributed version control systems (git)
  • Experience with containerization solutions such as Docker is a plus.
  • Machine Learning / Deep Learning / IA Knowledge
  • Web programming expertise (HTML/CSS, PHP, Javascript)

  • The candidate must have a master’s degree in computational sciences to get in. People will like it if you know about environmental issues.
  • Language Requirement: The students must meet the university’s language requirements for the job they want. To interact, you need to have good communication skills.
