Durham Launches Renewable Energy and Sustainable Urban Infrastructure Consortium

Addressing urgent global decarbonisation priorities, Durham University has formally inaugurated its Clean Energy and Resilient Cities Consortium. Situated within the institution's environmental sciences and civil engineering departments in Durham, the program seeks to pilot deployable microgrid solutions, low-carbon building composites, and circular water management architectures.

The initiative brings together faculty experts, graduate research teams, municipal planning authorities, and regional energy providers to test laboratory innovations in real-world urban and campus environments.
