UvA Alumnus Hannah Van Der Meer Raises $12M for Climate Analytics Technology Startup

From Campus Laboratory to High-Growth Clean Technology

Demonstrating the entrepreneurial vitality of University of Amsterdam's academic ecosystem, alumnus Hannah Van Der Meer has successfully closed a twelve million dollar venture investment round for an environmental intelligence company originally conceived during their studies in Amsterdam.

The startup specializes in automated satellite remote sensing and machine learning analysis, providing institutional investors and environmental regulators with auditable, real-time measurements of methane and carbon emissions across energy infrastructure.

The Incubation Journey

• Foundational Research: Initial algorithms developed during graduate coursework within University of Amsterdam's Faculty of Physics and Astronomy.
• Incubator Support: Early-stage prototyping grants and legal mentorship provided by the university's technology commercialization hub.
• Rapid Scaling: Expanding from an on-campus team of three researchers to an international enterprise employing dozens of technical engineers.
