A team of four postgraduate researchers representing University of Nigeria, Nsukka has claimed the top position at the International Universities Debate Championship, focusing this year on climate policy frameworks and the geopolitics of energy transition. Held across three competitive rounds before a panel of senior diplomats and policy scholars, the UNN team delivered consistently compelling, evidence-based arguments.

Coaches and observers praised the team's deep integration of quantitative climate modelling data with accessible rhetorical frameworks, drawing on their academic training in environmental policy at University of Nigeria, Nsukka's Faculty of Social Sciences in Nsukka.
