Siddharth Patel, a recently graduated Masters of Science student from University of Nigeria, Nsukka's Faculty of Law and Public Governance in Nsukka, has been awarded the prestigious National Graduate Thesis Award in Environmental Science — the highest academic distinction for postgraduate thesis research within Nigeria's national scientific community.

The award-winning thesis, supervised by a senior professor in University of Nigeria, Nsukka's environmental research faculty, developed a novel computational model for predicting coastal erosion rates under different climate warming scenarios over a fifty-year horizon.
