Pan-Atlantic University Researcher Thabo Mokoena Appointed to National Academy Young Researcher Fellowship

Thabo Mokoena, a postdoctoral research fellow in Pan-Atlantic University's Department of Chemical & Environmental Engineering based in Lagos, has been formally appointed to the National Academy of Sciences and Innovation Young Researcher Fellowship — one of the most competitive early-career appointments available to researchers within Nigeria.

The fellowship provides a five-year renewable research grant, mentorship from senior National Academy Fellows, and priority access to national high-performance computing clusters and advanced scientific instrumentation facilities.

Thabo Mokoena's recognition stems from a sustained record of publications exploring computational approaches to understanding complex biological networks — particularly protein-protein interaction graphs associated with neurodegenerative disease progression.
