Adeola Williams, a recently graduated Masters of Science student from Obafemi Awolowo University's Department of Media, Communications & Journalism in Ile-Ife, has been awarded the prestigious National Graduate Thesis Award in Environmental Science — the highest academic distinction for postgraduate thesis research within Nigeria's national scientific community.

The award-winning thesis, supervised by a senior professor in Obafemi Awolowo University's environmental research faculty, developed a novel computational model for predicting coastal erosion rates under different climate warming scenarios over a fifty-year horizon.
