PSL Alumnus Yuki Tanaka Raises $12M for Climate Analytics Technology Startup
Founded out of the university innovation incubator, Yuki Tanaka's startup uses satellite remote sensing to monitor industrial emissions.
From Campus Laboratory to High-Growth Clean Technology
Demonstrating the entrepreneurial vitality of Paris Sciences et Lettres University's academic ecosystem, alumnus Yuki Tanaka has successfully closed a twelve million dollar venture investment round for an environmental intelligence company originally conceived during their studies in Paris.
The startup specializes in automated satellite remote sensing and machine learning analysis, providing institutional investors and environmental regulators with auditable, real-time measurements of methane and carbon emissions across energy infrastructure.
The Incubation Journey
- Foundational Research: Initial algorithms developed during graduate coursework within Paris Sciences et Lettres University's Department of Media, Communications & Journalism.
- Incubator Support: Early-stage prototyping grants and legal mentorship provided by the university's technology commercialization hub.
- Rapid Scaling: Expanding from an on-campus team of three researchers to an international enterprise employing dozens of technical engineers.
Fostering Student Entrepreneurship
"Our goal is to give students the confidence and operational tools to take fundamental scientific discoveries and convert them into scalable solutions for global problems," remarked the Director of Entrepreneurship at PSL.
