How to land a job as a Garage Servicer at City of London in Canada

You will be responsible for washing and cleaning all equipment, as well as minor repair and lubrication of mechanical equipment at garages.

Summary of Responsibilities

You will perform work as directed by a Supervisor or other designated official.

Responsible for the washing and cleaning of all equipment, as well as the minor repair and lubrication maintenance of mechanical equipment at garages.

Also responsible for the general upkeep of the facility.

Work Performed

Maintains a lubricant supply for all mechanical equipment and performs regular oil and filter changes.

Performs visual inspections of mechanical equipment while it is being lubricated and reports findings on appropriate check sheets.

Carries out a variety of straightforward mechanical maintenance tasks as needed.

Performs the necessary steps to get new or replacement vehicles and equipment ready for use.

Provides assistance with heavy tasks to other employees in the division.

Tires and wheel components should be replaced at regular intervals.

Transports cars and equipment to and from areas designated for lubrication and washing, as well as periodically picking up parts and moving vehicles. Also responsible for moving automobiles.

Employs a variety of hand and power tools and equipment, including oil-changing equipment, pressure grease guns, and power washers, among other things.

Keeping written work records, such as time sheets and PM inspection reports, up to date requires preparation and maintenance of these documents.

Performs mandatory cleaning and inspection of shop equipment, including safety equipment and tools.

Trucks and other types of mechanical equipment are washed. Before doing preventative maintenance, inspections, or repairs, the individual responsible for cleaning and degreasing vehicles and equipment.

Performs related duties that are temporary, of an emergency nature, or that are minor but recurring when assigned to do so.

Qualifications/Experience

Completion of the 12th grade with honors in the province of Ontario or its equivalent is required.

Specialized Training & Licenses

Required to have training and certification in a recognized wheel end program.

Driver’s license valid for the DZ class required.

A solid understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).

A fundamental understanding of how to maintain equipment.

Must be in possession of a CVWS certificate, which stands for Commercial Vehicle Wheel Service and is mandated by the Ontario government.

Compensation

$22.96 – $25.50 per hour
