There are two types of Buhooth Scholarships :

1. UAE-BASED BUHOOTH

This scholarship affords candidates the chance to pursue Master’s and Doctoral degrees at Khalifa University of Science and Technology.

• Only certain majors will be eligible for the scholarship, as determined by Khalifa University of Science and Technology.
• The estimated (subject to change) monthly stipend for the UAE-based Buhooth Scholarship is as follows:
  • During the MSc: Single AED 30,000 Married AED 33,000
  • During the PhD: Single: 36 000; Married: 39 000

2. INTERNATIONAL BUHOOTH

The purpose of this scholarship is to enable applicants to pursue Master’s and Doctoral degrees at top international universities.

• The scholarship is restricted to Khalifa University of Science and Technology-designated majors.
• The scholarship is extremely competitive, and only a small number of successful applicants will be awarded each year.
• An applicant with a Bachelor’s degree will sign a contract committing to complete both their Master’s and Doctorate degrees at the selected institution approved by KU, and must then accept employment, if offered by KU, in a suitable post for a period of time that must be at least equal to the length of the study period.
• An applicant holding a Master’s degree will sign a contract committing to complete their Doctorate studies at the selected institution approved by KU and then accept employment, if offered by KU, for a period of time that is at least equal to the study period.
• The amount of the stipend includes a supplement for UAE nationals living outside the UAE.
• The recipients of this scholarship will be registered with the Abu Dhabi Retirement Pensions and Benefits Fund during the period of study and the period of employment required by the scholarship’s criteria.
• Recipients of international Buhooth scholarships will receive medical insurance for themselves, their spouse, and any dependents who qualify.
• This scholarship entitles recipients to annual round-trip airfare for themselves, their spouse, and eligible dependents.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the khalifa University Buhooth Scholarship Program at the khalifa University applicants must meet the following requirements.

FOR UAE-BASED BUHOOTH

• Applicants must be nationals of the UAE.
• Applicants must meet all admission requirements for the academic programme at Khalifa University to which they are applying. Please be advised that admission is extremely competitive and that meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance into the programme.

FOR INTERNATIONAL BUHOOTH

• Applicants must be nationals of the UAE.
• Applicants must possess a degree from Khalifa University. On a case-by-case basis, graduates from other schools may be considered.
• Online applications must be submitted via the Khalifa University Admission Portal. Applicants must meet all admission requirements for the academic programme to which they are applying at Khalifa University with the following minimum GPA requirements:
• Master’s programmes require a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.50 (or its equivalent) for admissions consideration.
• PhD programmes require a minimum Bachelor GPA of 3.50 (or equivalent) and Master GPA of 3.70 (or equivalent) for applications.
• Applicants must submit an acceptance letter from a top-tier international institution (preferred top 50 QS or THE ranking). The letter must be submitted with the Khalifa University application.
